I just LOVE those gift card holder cards!!

So our niece is engaged and the Engagement Party was today in South/Central Jersey ...unfortunately I could not attend, but Bob did - and so here is the card I sent with him ...I just love when an idea you have in your head comes out 1-2-3...just like you imagined!!! I wish that happened all the time! LOL The diamond engagement ring has - of course - dazzling diamonds glued on there, but the picture is not detailed enough....Anyway - enjoy! And congrats Erinn!!!

Alzheimer's donations and blog candy alert

Please visit the site of Cammie - who is currently offering a blog candy worth 1,000's of dollars and cards by the royalty of the card world...unfortunately I found the candy late and it goes off tomorrow - but still - with Alzheimer's - the thief disease - being the beneficiary of the goodness and also the caregivers - I felt I must support it even if it goes off in 2 minutes!! I just gave a card to the staff where my mom is this past Tuesday- as they are treating her so well - and it just eases my heart no end...remember this card from my SAS? That's what I gave to Nina, my hero...

I really fell in love with this cute little set and I love flowers - my mom was a florist - and I love making the flower embellishment....plus - how can you not love the saying? So I used this card to show a small part of the very large feeling I have for Mother's new care takers....thank God for them!

Lookie at What I learned at Convention!!!

One of the demonstrators showed us this card at convention and it immediately went on my "to do" list...I really need to change up the colors in the scallop circle - but this was a first attempt. I also need to glue the circles on the inside farther apart - but all in all I like it! I got really thirsty when I made the card, so I made Bob take me out to TGI Friday's down the street for a $1.50 Coors Light draft...and I don't usually drink beer - I usually reserve that for when I play softball! LOL But - it was a nice little date for us!! And so - at $1.50, I was a CHEAP DATE!! LOL!!! Anyway - enjoy the card!

Sorry - its been crazy here for me - the rental issue disaster - my mom's transfer to the new Alzheimer's facility - getting her new clothes that fit and are easy on and off - working on my doctorate (my time clock is ticking DOWN!) - plus regular life - then my poor Scruffy got sick last night and was up four times from midnite to 5am (when I get up)...and Back to School night tonight - and I am here until 9:30 pm....with a trip up to mom in the middle....

So - here are the two twinnie birthday cards I almost posted before their birthday!! Kathy came over and played last week and I helped her with the design of these cards...I used inspiration from my pal Rhonda in AZ - she is an INKredible girl so her blog is listed on the left if you want to check out her original...(thanks Rhonda!) Aren't they cute! This was one of the first sets I got...hmmmm...what does that tell ya!! LOL Anyway - enjoy how well they came out! Kathy is da bomb!! Point her in a direction and consider it DONE! Grad gift card

Here is a quick masculine graduation card that I made for a family gathering/celebration last weekend. It was a quick 1-2-3. We learned how to use the 12X 12 paper cut into a four inch strip so as to make a card with a pocket (for cash or gift card) at last year's regionals in Philly.

Paper: Tangerine Tango textured and regular, confetti white, chocolate chip, DSP Hawaii Papaya

Ink: Chocolate Chip Ink

Here's a quick birthday card...

We had a family gathering yesterday for Lisa's son who is up from North Carolina in celebration of his high school graduation...THAT card will be posted tomorrow....so since we were all together I gave my step-son David his birthday card, as his birthday was Saturday. I water colored the image, which is retired from the last mini-catalog, on Saturday and put the card together Sunday before we left with the real red and the bashful blue card stock...and some retired designer paper from one of last catalog's Simply Scrappin Kits....I think I could have used something else...don't know what, since I really did not want to use ribbon.....but I do like it....I just don't love it....kwim? Anyway - let me know what you think!!!!

Small delay in posting...

Sorry I haven't been around...things as usual go crazy from time to time...and this was a week of one of those times!! I started school on Wednesday the 3rd and that has its own issues, what with making sure I have all my supplies and getting ready for the kiddos, etc etc....And I get really tired after teaching all day and the long commute I have to readjust to.....but I really missed my kids (when people ask how many kids I have, I have taken to replying "hundreds!") and lucky for me they missed me back! I am fortunate that I have my students from two to four years...and we all grow together....but I digress....

Then a "rental" emergency that lasted several days - involved plumbing....nuff said on THAT icky sitch.....AND who planned THAT expense! Dang house was supposed to have been sold by now, anyway.... ah, but the best laid plans.....

And last but not least...we were busy with happy family stuff...AND I have been diligently putting in my time on my doctoral work...I am in the home stretch now and while its killing me, its almost over!! Thank you, Jesus!! Then throw in that my mother was moved this past weekend from the Psychiatric Hospital to a nursing home/Alzheimer's place...(my sister and I are going tomorrow to visit).... and so....I have not had an opportunity nor the energy to post!! But I have thought about it!! ;-) But I am back!! Thanks for hanging around....and don't forget...I got some blog candy coming up....almost at that 5K mark! Feels like a marathon!!! LOL TTYL!

For those who think they "can't stamp"...

This posting is for the gals who have said to either Stephanie, my daughter, or to me...."oh your cards are so lovely, but I couldn't do that!" Well - I am here to tell you you can!! I have posted two cards below that I made eons ago with now retired sets - like 2003 or so ...and I don't know if you do - but I think they are pretty! And...Well ... no I didn't make them up....I "CASE'd" them (you know....copy and share everything!)....and where did I "case"them from? Why - our own Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog! Eh hemmm..... get it....Idea Book?!?! LOL When I started I didn't know techniques or have any ideas of my own that weren't "oogly"(be thankful I didn't show you THOSE cards!!!LOL)... so what I did was I started to collect different years of the Idea Book & Catalog....I went through the books and marked which cards I wanted to recreate or CASE. If I didn't have the sets, paper or embellies...I used what I had and made it work to come as close as possible to the original. And, along the way of doing this, I learned how to put together colors, create different layouts and many different techniques, tips and tricks... This is also the time where I learned how to fix pretty much all kinds of boo boos - cuz I made 'em all!! And THAT is why I am a valuable demonstrator - don't cha think?!?!? LOL No really - go out and CASE a card today...if you send me what you did by email - I'll post your picture right here on my blog! GO FOR IT!!! YOU CAN DO IT!
